GENETIC DIVERSITY AMONG OROBANCHE CRENATA ECOTYPES IN ALGERIA, REVEALED BY RAPD AND AFLP MARKERS.

The main objective of this study was to determine or assess the level of diversity among O.crenata ecotypes collected in a restricted area of the Mitidja region. The second objective was to investigate the efficiency of RAPD and AFLP markers in assessing the genetic variation in the carnation broomrape (Orobanche crenata Forsk.) Algerian ecotypes that have probably a similar genetic pool. Each marker system allowed the discrimination among the materials studied, but a clear discrimination between all analyzed ecotypes was obtained with the AFLP marker system.
